The Partnership meeting in Spain

VISIT PROGRAMME
SEPTEMBER, 29th- OCTOBER, 3th- 2008


Sunday 28th – ARRIVAL OF GUESTS
- The German group will arrive at 19.15, the Norwegian and Greece groups at 20.10, and the Italian group at 20.50.
- Transport to accommodation places: students to Adamuz, Villa de Río and El Carpio, teachers to hotel in Cordoba.
- Stroll around the surroundings of the train station to clear your minds up and then our first dinner together.
Monday 29thA DAY IN MONTORO
8:30- Official Begin of the Programme. Arrival of students in Montoro. Workshop with Power Point Presentation by the Spanish students at the school library.
9:30-Arrival of teachers in Montoro. Welcome by our headmaster. Breakfast with other teachers and tour through building. Presentation of the Comenius activities by some students.
11:00-Reception at the Town Hall and sightseeing around the town with a tourist guide donated by the Council of Montoro.
14:30-Students go home by bus. Lunch donated by the Council of Montoro with Montoro’s authorities and some workmates from the school.
16:30- Teachers back to Córdoba. Time to relax.
17:00-Football match in Adamuz (only students). Then, a free drink at a local pub.
9:00- Beginning of the tour around Cordobesian taverns.
Tuesday 30th – A DAY IN ADAMUZ
8:30- Arrival of students from Villa del Rio and El Carpio in Montoro. Comenius students join classes.
9:30- Arrival of teachers in Montoro. Departure to Adamuz.
10:00- Reception at the Town Hall and Visit to Almazara (Olive oil mill).
12:00- Visit to Montes Comunales (Natural site). Open-air activities in groups before lunch (fishing, hiking…)
14:30- Lunch donated by the Council of Adamuz.
18:00- Students to families and teachers to Córdoba.
21:00- Light Dinner close to the hotel.
Wednesday 1st – FIRST DAY IN CORDOBA
8:30-Students leave Montoro.
9:30-Teachers meet students in Córdoba.
10:30- Reception at the Town Hall. Official Act supporting Cordoba’s Cultural Capitality for 2016. Signing of an official document by Italian, German, Norwegian and Greek coordinators.
12:00-Guided visit to Alcázar’s Gardens (typical Moorish gardens which belong to an old castle converted into a museum) donated by the Council of Córdoba.
13:00-Visit to Julio Romero de Torres’ Museum (famous Cordobesian painter) donated by the Council of Córdoba.
14:00-Free Lunch at a restaurant in the old part of the city.
17:00-Visit to the ruins of the Caliph city Medina Azahara. Guided by the Spanish students.
18:00-Students to families and teachers to Córdoba.
21:00- Visit to a traditional tavern and tasting of fino wine (Andalusian sweet wine). Dinner afterwards.
Thursday 2nd – SECOND DAY IN CORDOBA
8:30-Students leave Montoro.
9:30-Teachers meet students in Córdoba.
10:30-Visit to Antonio Gala’s Foundation (A Foundation created by Antonio Gala, a well-known Cordobesian writer, in order to support young artists).
12:00- Visit to the Mosque (Cultural World Heritage). Guided visit for those interested.
13:00-Reception at the University of Córdoba, Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Cordoba. Presentation of the Faculty Programmes by the Vice Dean.
13.30- Free drink for teachers donated by the Faculty
14.00- Free Lunch for all at the Faculty’s canteen.
15:30- Free Evening: Shopping, museums (different options will be given).
Optional tea at an Arab tea shop for teachers.
19:00-Students go home.
21:00- End of the tour around traditional taverns.
Friday 3rd – THEATRE PLAY IN MONTORO-PICNIC IN ADAMUZ-DEPARTURE OF THE ITALIAN GUESTS
8:30- Students arrive in Montoro
9:30-Workshop for the foreigner students.
10:30-Teachers arrive in Montoro.
11:00-Theatre play at Montoro’s theatre. Sketches and presentations about the legends of Montoro and its surroundings. End of the Official Programme.
14:30- Picnic Day at Carmen’s (the student!). Her family will prepare a meal for us. Farewell party.
17:30-Departure of the Italian group.
19:00-Farewell to the Italian group at Cordoba’s train station.
21:00- Last dinner in Córdoba. Drink out.
Saturday 4th – DEPARTURE OF THE REST OF THE TEAMS.
Departure of the Greek, Norwegian and German groups between 9 and 10 a.m. All the families should be at the station by 9:00 to say good-bye to their hosts.

This is the intended program for the week. Every other detail will be given during the week. I’m sorry to tell you that the weather’s a bit rainy and according to the predictions it will keep drizzling until Monday. However, you’ll enjoy nice temperatures between 25º and 16º. Please bring comfortable clothes and shoes because you’ll walk a lot!
We wish a pleasant flight and journey by train. We’re looking forward to your arrival!
